Welcome
to Clubvin where we take our motto "Dedicated to making the
finest wines in your home" most seriously. Here's a note
from the author:
"Over 30
years ago I started making my own wine. Used to enjoying a bottle of
reasonable commercial wine with the evening meal on a regular basis ,
I found that homemade wines from kits were lacking in distinction and
body. Getting an endless variety of expert
opinions on basic issues such as "choosing a winejuice"
"when & how to rack (syphon) a wine"
"temperatures" "clearing" "when or should
you filter a wine" "cork size & preparation" etc,
I began to research and experiment with the wine making process,
additives and available product. I made & aged different brands,
usually dividing batches in two and treating each half differently to
observe any variation that might occur due to water used,
whether or not the wine was filtered, bulk and or bottle aged etc.
For about 12 years sharing this experience with fellow home vintners
through my retail supply business, I kept notes of vintners questions
and problems, and recorded notes of the simplest way to produce the
best possible wine from the winejuice chosen. Whether you are interested
in making a quick light wine or a more complex full bodied one I
think you will find that "101
Wine Kit Tips" is full of practical ideas that
will ensure you achieve your goal and obtain the best possible
results for your investment in money and time. The book has lots of
useful tips that have not been seen in any other publication. I can
honestly report that over the years, the book seems to have addressed
all the essential facets of making wine from kits but please remember
to contact me on any kit related questions that you feel is not
covered to your satisfaction".
Cheers, John.
